Digital Printing Systems takes your revenue protection challenges seriously.
We have several ways to help you combat counterfeiting.
It is estimated that worldwide, counterfeiting is a $600 billion a year problem. In fact, it’s a problem that has grown over 10,000 percent in the past two decades. The Global Anti-Counterfeiting Group estimates that counterfeiting costs U.S. businesses $200 billion to $250 billion annually. Dramatic improvements in technology, color copying and printing, combined with lower costs, have made the challenge faced by transit agencies and parking operators to stop losses significant.
Digital Printing Systems is focused on helping ticket issuing organizations deal with this problem. We successfully use a variety of anti-counterfeiting tactics as noted below. Singly or in combination, and when coupled with operator training and awareness, these security options have proven very effective in thwarting counterfeiters.
SECURAFOIL:
Holographic foil applied to your tickets. Many patterns and colors are available and we can create different shapes specific to your needs. Easy to spot, nearly impossible to duplicate.
HIDDEN IMAGES:
This technology places into the design a hidden image feature that’s viewed only through a special decoder lens. Used for general validation and also in conjunction with more forensic features such as custom decodes.
THERMOCHROMIC INK:
This ink reacts to the heat generated by brisk rubbing over the printed area. It disappears when warm and reappears as it cools.
COIN ACTIVATION INK:
The colorants in the ink react when rubbed with a coin.
Two options are available:
- Opaque white ink turns grey
- Transparent ink turns blue and also glows under black light
BLACKLIGHT INK:
These special inks respond to ultraviolet (UV) light. The printing is transparent except when placed under a black light when the ink glows yellow or blue.
MICROPRINTING:
Very small printing that is integrated into the design of the ticket to appear as a line or border but, when viewed under magnification is shown as a word or phrase. When copied it appears solid.
LAID LINES:
Unevenly spaced and sized diagonal lines which make cut and paste and replication by desktop ink printers difficult.
We will be happy to send you samples of tickets incorporating these techniques.
